Course Archive Parser

NetKnowledgy's Course Archive Parser is a command-line application that will read an unzipped course archive and create a static representation of the course as a series of HTML files with links to course content extracted from the archive.

This generated report includes, but is not limited to:

  • course structure
  • course content
  • users and their roles
  • gradebook
  • announcements
  • assignment submissions
  • quizzes
  • discussion boards
  • glossary

Institutions typically run the parser to obtain grade and assignment information for a particular student in a specified course, or to extract content for a course instructor. It has also been used to extract several years of archives to provide students with online access to content from the courses in which they were enrolled.

The parser will extract content from both course archive and course export files.
