Tool Use analyses the WebCT web server's access logs and generates a report of tool use.

The report can be used to address questions such as:

• How many courses are actually active?
• Which courses are still in use?
• Which departments have the most students using WebCT?
• How many students used WebCT in a given week and over a semester?
• What percentage of courses are using discussions?
• Has the use of the dropbox increased since we added a training session addressing its use?
• Do we get particularly heavy quiz use in certain weeks?
• Which courses are using the image database?
• Does the use of goals and self tests need more advocacy?
